A Somerset Wedding On The Edge Of Exmoor
West Somerset is known for its open spaces and of course its coastline. Just outside of Minehead in West Hacketty a house was preparing for a wedding. The road from Taunton to Minehead is a brilliant drive, and it’s amazing in a camper van. You are now imagining me heading to meet Will & Merideth on the day of their wedding. This special day was in fact on private land, Merideth’s parent’s house, and upon arrival, I knew we would get a nice set of photos straight away. Summer was here, the grass is long and we had a soft layer of clouds for good exposures and accurate colors in photos. Happy as a pig in… JUST LIKE I WAS AT SAM & GEMMA’S WEDDING IN SOMERSET.
A country theme…
Upon arrival parking my van, and walking up to the house I had already scouted a meadow I liked the look of. It was decided where I would end this set and I was already excited. Further up to the drive and looking up the hill, I could see the festival-looking tents where the wedding reception was going to be held. With it being on private land there were no restrictions or red tape, so the wedding was how they wanted it to be. Finally, I met with the new Mr & Mrs. White. Will explained to me they would hold the ceremony in the front garden followed by a confetti throw. What a lovely ceremony it was, the weather was perfect.
Big congrats…
After the wedding ceremony, we headed up to start the party. The tables were prepped for the wedding meal and the pints were waiting. The meadow near the drive was where we headed afterward to get some photos of them alone as you will see. Congrats Will & Merideth! What can I say but what a perfect Somerset wedding it was.
