Lockdown Doorstep Photography In Taunton, Somerset
The U.K has been on lockdown for 9 weeks now due to the Corona Virus, meaning life as we all knew it has changed dramatically. People allover have had to alter their lives help to maintain the spread of the virus. We all had our busy schedules, that have now thrown out of sync. As of this WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY for me at the moment is simply not happening. What can I do!? I personally have been going bonkers not being to take a photo! Ive bought a new camera, A NEW LENS & countless more hours spent learning new skills. So I had the thought of visiting some family’s and couples to find out about them and capture them with this Lockdown Doorstep Photography in Somerset.
Following government guidelines, and staying alert, I took these images from a safe distance. At 56mm & 85mm. Holding my camera out in front of me and pressing the shutter button. I managed to capture lots of images for them. Hundreds of photos where taken, in order to find the ones that made this post and their albums! Behind every number there is a story. Here are a few of the people I met on my travels!
Daryll & Sarah No 54
Sarah is newly self employed and as of this has slipped the net with any support from the government. Country Class Occasion Hair Beauty & Massage. Similar to myself as a wedding photographer, this year was lined up to be great. But as of the situation all of her wedding bookings have been rescheduled for next year. Her husband Daryll has been working extra hours to make up for this and she couldn’t be any more proud of him. She has been making the most of the extra time with their daughter who misses her little friends a lot. Getting out on family walks and adventures is what is helping them through this time.

Emily & Drew No 21
Emily and Drew have been doing their best to stay positive and keep their sanity. They have both be furloughed from their jobs, so have been at home a lot more. The being stuck at home test they are handling well! Emily has found a joy in gardening and also art. Drew has taken up reading for a new pleasure. They have both found spending the extra time together nice. The little things in life are what they are really noticing. We got some photos in the doorway of their home in Taunton.

Kate and Cam No 6
Kate and Cam are both key workers, and live in Wellington. Cam is a truck driver, and he is delivering building materials in the south west. Kate works at the local hospital. Amelia their daughter is coping best she can with home schooling. As well as attending school while her parents work. They do worry at times about the the virus and it getting into their home & will never forget this time in history. Freddie their little boy is being himself running around and being mischievous!

Amber, Matt & Will, No 1
Amber met Matt early February, and have taken the plunge to be together at home during lockdown. Can you relate? “It’s better than being apart for so long” Amber says. Her trademark colourful hair is now showing roots. This is her measurement for how long this has all been going on! Her son Will is missing his friends. They have been connecting online and playing lots of Roblox. His sister Rowan has just missed her GCSE’s. She is now waiting out the summer to take her A level at Richard Hush. They did really enjoyed contributing to this lockdown doorstep photography in Somerset post!

Liam & Heidi No 3
Heidi is coming to the end of her maternity, after giving birth to little baby Sophie. Who is a very smiley little baby! Liam has been furloughed so they have spent time together as a family. Little Theo, has been watching hi dad dig holes in the garden for the new fence, and his mum has been painting it. Theo has also said “250,000 months at home is to long” and he misses hugging his family outside of the home. Theo even coloured in a cut out number three for the photos as Liam has also been installing a new porch.

Tom & Jen No 23
Tom and Jen both being pensioners have been at home most of the time during the lockdown. The allotment is where Tom has been spending his time to keep busy and away from busy places. He has also purchased many books online. Jen’s been playing games online as well choir through the Zoom app. The garden is where they have been spending a lot of time together in the sun. Tom is looking forward to seeing his skittles team again, Zoom for him has been very useful also.
